Charlotte has one of the top science museums in the US. The downtown Discovery Place provides an ever changing, atmosphere with entertaining experience; ranging from life and science to space exploration. Over a half-million people visit Discovery Place each year, for its IMAX Theater and Charlotte Nature Museum. Discovery Place was selected in 2005 by the Israel Antiquities Authority to present a exhibition featuring the Dead Sea Scrolls. The exhibition was a great success breaking attendance records of 300,000 visitors while on display.
